Fish Food Alternatives

Food for the fish is a major cost. People in the remote villages of Cambodia, or Nepal, or a refugee camp of 200,000 in Africa do not have the money to purchase $100.00 bags of commercial fish food. But there are other things to consider. What about farming the black solider fly larvae, or grow the high protein plant called Duckweed, or worms, crickets, soy beans or algae? Even used barley hops and rye from a beer production plant deserves consideration. These are products that need to be looked at as a replacement, and the growth rate of the fish compared to those fed commercial feeds.

There is only one way to KNOW what works, what is repeatable and reliable, that is to TRY IT!
